Ok I did the Turbulence Training 7 min circuit and OMG it kicked my ass! If any of you have tried this, you know what I mean. The push-ups killed me and I am doing them on my knees, so I decided to have a push-up challenge. So for those of you that can't do a proper push-up with your legs out straight.....
Here is the challenge:
Who can do the most push-ups by March 24th

I like how Mike is doing his chin-up challenge so I post a weekly update on my progress and the progress of those of you who are doing the push-up challenge as well! Each week on Monday I will post how everyone is doing. I am also working on a plan to help you accomplish this.

I found a site HERE ,that shows how to go from not being able to do any push-ups to being able to do proper push-ups.
Also I am including the 1000 Push-Ups site
So lets set goals, decide how many push-ups you want to be able to do, also for those who can already do push-ups, they can either set a goal to do a certain number or they can choose a harder style push-up to master, check these out Craig Ballantyne's Push-Up variations
So Leave me a message stating your goals as well.

I would like to get involved, but I may not qualify as I can already do 30 straight up.
FYI, for those interested in getting better at pushups, go to http://www.1000pushups.com and they have a program that will get you up to 1000 straight pushups!!!

Push ups are interesting.It seems like you go forever and aren't able to be able to do one big boy push up and then BAM like overnight, you can.Good luck!!Mastering the push up is one of the best things you can do for your chest and shoulders!After you master this, then you can move on to mastering declining ones w/weight on your back!!

HI Tea! I think I need to do this challenge, too! I have decided to do Michael's chin up challenge and this will really add to it! I made a goal for myslef a while ago to be able to do 10 straight push ups by Christmas and I did it. Now I would like to be able to progress even farther.

Great challenge! I'd like to have a go at this one. I'm not sure how many I can do or how many I should aim for. I might trial it out over the next couple of days and give you a goal later. I'd like to think I could aim for 50.

Thats fine Mike, I didn't know what a good goal for myself was either. There is a push-up test on the 1000 push-up site Ruthie is doing I might check that out.

I just read Michael's earlier comment. At the moment I can do quite a few as well, not sure if that disqualifies me, but I sure would like to keep myself accountable weekly doing pushups. That 1000 pushup site is awesome as well.

I am in!!! I am not sure how many pushups I should aim for, but I will check the sites out and see what I figure out. :) Back in the day I was able to do 47 in 2 minutes (army days).... but I remember my very first day of basic training I barely squeeked out ONE. If you couldn't do ONE they sent you to "fat camp" for two weeks before going to basic..... I was so happy I did one! LOL

Yes Adam Monday the 31st is the official start date, at first it was for people that couldn't even do one, but I think it should be open to everyone.
The more i read about CB Turbulence Training, the more intrigued I am. I'm thinking of getting his ebook but would love to hear more about it. Is it worthwhile? Do you do BFL and TT? Thanks for any info Tea!
Hi Tea, I just posted a vid of my first week doing your challenge. I did 30 so my goal is to at least double that by March 24, 2008. BTW, great idea, I love it!

Hey I'm finally getting back into the swing after the holidays and checked in to see what's up with everyone and it seems this is a popular idea. So I thought I would give it a try too. I already do a lot of pushups for my Jujitsu class but it is a great exercise and I can always improve! So I'll have to see where my starting point is now and start tracking! Thanks for the idea!
